TERMS AND CONDITIONS

Welcome to Standard Weight Rental ("Company," "we," "our," or "us"). These Terms and Conditions ("Terms") govern your use of standardweightrental.com and all equipment rental, delivery, and dispatch services provided by Standard Weight Rental. By placing an order, booking a delivery, or utilizing our equipment, you ("Customer," "Client," or "Renter") agree to be bound by these Terms.

1. Equipment Rental & Services

  • Scope of Service: Standard Weight Rental provides certified test weights, rigging accessories, and direct-to-site transport for elevator, crane, hoist, and general load testing.

  • Weight Accuracy: All weights provided are calibrated, verified, and certified within industry tolerance standards. Equipment weight certificates are available upon request.

  • Inspection Upon Delivery: The Customer is responsible for inspecting the rented equipment immediately upon arrival. Any alleged discrepancy in weight, quantity, or condition must be reported to the delivery driver and dispatch team prior to signing the delivery confirmation.

2. Rental Period, Delivery, & Access

  • Rental Start and End: The rental period begins at the scheduled delivery window or upon offloading at the designated job site and ends when the equipment is reloaded onto our transport vehicle for return.

  • Site Access & Loading Requirements: The Customer must ensure clear, unobstructed, and legal access to the curbside, loading dock, or staging area. If delivery or pickup is delayed due to site access issues, locked bays, or uncoordinated personnel, additional waiting time charges may apply.

  • Delivery Windows: Standard business hours dispatch occurs between 6:30 AM and 5:00 PM EST. Afterhours, weekend, and 24-Hour Express dispatch services must be scheduled in advance and are subject to express service rates.

3. Rates, Payment, & Cancellation

  • Pricing Structure:

    • Standard Rental Rate: $275 for the first day per 5,000 lbs ($125/day per 5,000 lbs thereafter).

  • Payment Terms: Payment is due upon booking confirmation unless credit terms have been formally approved in writing. Outstanding balances after the due date are subject to a late fee of 1.5% per month (18% per annum) or the maximum legal rate.

  • Cancellation Policy:

    • Cancellations made more than 24 hours prior to the scheduled delivery window receive a full refund.

    • Cancellations made within 24 hours of delivery are subject to a cancellation fee equivalent to 50% of the first-day rental cost.

4. Equipment Usage, Care, & Liability

  • Permitted Use: Equipment shall be used strictly by trained, qualified, and certified personnel for authorized load testing procedures in compliance with local safety codes and OSHA regulations.

  • Prohibited Actions: The Customer shall not alter, modify, weld, sub-rent, relocate away from the designated job site, or misuse the rental weights and transport cradles.

  • Loss or Damage: The Customer assumes full financial responsibility for loss, theft, or physical damage to the equipment during the rental period. Lost or unreturned weights will be billed at full replacement cost plus transport fees.

5. Limitation of Liability & Indemnification

  • Operational Liability: Standard Weight Rental delivers test equipment only and does not perform certified safety inspections, elevator engineering, or crane sign-offs. The Customer and their certified inspection technicians retain full responsibility for the proper conduct, rigging, and safety of the load test.

  • Indirect Damages: In no event shall Standard Weight Rental be liable for indirect, incidental, consequential, special, or delay-related damages (including lost profits, lost tenant revenue, or building downtime) arising out of equipment rental or delivery performance.

  • Maximum Liability: Our total cumulative liability for any claim arising from these Terms or service fulfillment shall not exceed the total fees paid by the Customer for that specific rental order.

  • Indemnification: The Customer agrees to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless Standard Weight Rental, its officers, employees, and logistics partners from any third-party claims, liabilities, damages, or expenses resulting from improper equipment handling, unauthorized job-site rigging, or negligence by the Customer's personnel.

6. Governing Law & Dispute Resolution

These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the state in which the logistics hub serving your order is located, without regard to conflict of law principles. Any legal action or proceeding related to these Terms shall be instituted exclusively in state or federal court within the local jurisdiction.
